About Jane Jane Williams is a wife and mother who has worked in secular and Christian social work for most of her adult life. She has been a member of Christian Fellowship Church, in Columbia, Missouri, since its inception in 1978, and has served as Director of Children’s Ministry and more currently as Director of Benevolence Ministry. Jane feels particularly privileged to have been a co-founder of Granny’s House, a Christ-centered after-school haven for kids in public housing, and a founding board member of ColumbiaCenter for Women’s Ministries, a peer counseling center for women in need of guidance or support. Her efforts toward the establishment of these ministries sprang from a several year involvement in a door-to-door prayer ministry in public housing, called Freeprayer, which she and two friends, Pam Ingram and Cliff Grantham, started in 1996. Jane is actively involved in city-wide prayer efforts and various projects to draw churches together to serve the disadvantaged. She has written for Dwelling Together newsletter, a publication to promote unity in the body of Christ in her city, served as coordinator of church response to the needs of Hurricane Katrina evacuees and has been one of the catalysts behind current efforts to establish Love INC in Columbia. She currently serves as vice-president of Columbia Love INC, a ministry that mobilizes the church to engage in transformation of individual lives and communities in the name of Christ. Jane has been happily married to Scott since 1977. Scott is an associate pastor at Christian Fellowship Church and serves as principal of the church’s K – 12 school. Jane and Scott have two children, Aaron and Suzanne. Aaron is a recent MU graduate who is serving as college/young adult pastor at Christian Fellowship. Suzanne is an art and visual communication major at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Jane and Scott are also foster parents and currently have a teenage foster son living in their home. Jane grew up in a Christian home but did not have a close relationship with Jesus until 1974, when she was swept up in the charismatic renewal which was exploding on her college campus. A second spiritual milestone occurred exactly 20 years later when she attended a conference at what was then Toronto Airport Vineyard Church. Jane, who had always been an active worker for God, was ushered into a new season of intimacy in prayer. Once a “Martha”, she became “Mary” as well and, within a year, was journaling what she felt God was speaking to her. These were initially all “first person” letters from God but have become a variety of formats over time. “Devotional essay” may be the best description with subject matter ranging from intimate invitations from God to topical bible study. Jane believes whole-heartedly in the inerrancy and completeness of the scripture. It is her hope that her writings will draw the reader deeper into the Word and the Person of God. Her desire is that each writing will serve as a signpost pointing readers to the dazzling beauty and stunning truth of her Heavenly Father, Wonderful Savior Jesus Christ and Precious Holy Spirit. |
